MY LATEST PUBLICATION
“Mystery At Sykes House” my latest publication and my 14th book to date, has been doing the rounds in one way or another, so to speak. The reaction has been phenomenal thus far, and it has a long way to go. The launch will take place under the aegis of Kilkee Civic Trust on July22nd at 8pm at the Sweeney Memorial Library. The famous Claddagh Ring, that stretches back a few hundred years, is a major 'player' in my Novella. With lots of memories of our beloved 'cousin' Kilkee, this little book has a priceless picture of my relations going back to the early 30s. Seems that following a wedding in the family, the group simply 'took off' for the afternoon in in Kilkee. Cost is €15 and can be purchased online at buythebook.ie or directly from myself at stmaryscommunitynotes@hotmail. com It will be in the shops, both in Limerick and Ennis and Kilkee following the launch.
INTERESTING COVER
The cover of the above-mentioned book is quite interesting, being that it focuses on the said, 'Sykes House' that all Kilkee lovers instantly recognise, passing it out on a daily basis as they walk up for their daily swim while on their annual holiday. The depiction of the disastrous ship, the Edmond, on the front cover is an engraving of the actual ship as it lay helpless and shattered on that awful November night close to midnight, having suffered the loss of 98 lives.
