CHURCH CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

The switching on of the festive lights outside our church will take place at 6.30pm on December 8th and this will be followed by our most welcome annual Carolfor Christmas event in the church. Hopefully, there will be a good turnout for this event, keeping in mind the hard work and time that both our choirs put into preparation, as well as a visitor or two in the lineup.over the decades this annual event has proven to be a most congenial event, where one is apt to spot someone they may not have seen for sometime, and engage in a chat.

SPORTS PARTNERSHIP

St Mary's NS are delighted to be taking part in the VIP Limerick Sports Partnership programme taking place weekly in the University of Limerick. The yearlong VIP Transition year programme is not about the sports star but about identifying potential in students that with the right supports and encouragement could become future coaches and leaders in the sport and physical activity sector.

MEMORY LANE AGAIN

Issue #24 of 'A Stroll Down Memory Lane' compiled by master photographic expert, and former employee of the 'Limerick Leader', Seán Curtin, is on sale once again this year. As well as selling in several venues in the city and suburbs, you can easily procure your copy by visiting the main entrance to our Saturday Milk Market, where you will encounter the friendly man himself. Seán will be there every Saturday up to Christmas time, and what an ideal gift, neatly priced too, for people at home or abroad. Well done to Seán! Like our own parish scribe, Denis O'Shaughnessy, yet another former employee of the 'Limerick Leader', he has never let Limerick down, and remain loyal to its noble past. And in the case of the latter, has tended to all matters of a Parish nature expertly over the past few decades. Think about it. If he hadn't done so, a wealth of local lore would have been lost forever.
