BICENTENARY CELEBRATIONS

The story of Athlunkard Street 1824-2024 by Denis O'Shaughnessy will be launched in St. Mary's RFC Clubhouse by Cllr Conor Sheehan, on Friday, April 19th at 8pm. There will be readings and music. 'The Story of Athlunkard Street' 1824-2024 will be available to purchase for €15 and proceeds will go to St. Mary's Branch Vincent de Paul. This book will also be on sale in St. Mary's Credit Union office and in McMahon's Butchers.

CELEBRATORY CONCERT

Thursday, April 25th in St. Mary's Church, with Choirs, singers and musicians. Admission free. 'The Story of Athlunkard Street' 1824 – 2024, will be available to purchase on the night.

UNVEILING OF PLAQUE

Friday, April 26th, at 5.30pm. Commemorating the founding of the CYMS in 1849, where the Credit Union now stands.

HISTORIC STREET WALK

Saturday, April 27th at 11.30am. Historic Street Walk with John Elliot, followed bt Unveiling of Plaque. Commemorating the 200th estblishment of the street.

COMMEMORATIVE MASS

Sunday 28th at 11.30am in St. Mary's Church , celebrated by Bishop Leahy, followed by Band Parade to Athlunkard Boat Club for street/party/barbeque.

STREET HISTORY BY DEREK

Monday, April 29th at 8.00pm. On the Lecture on the History of Athlunkard Street by Dr. Derek Mulcahy, in Mary Immaculate College. (Frm the Parish Newsletter)
